For this age group, school teachers are showing students how to write basic sentences. We will also teach story structure and focus on writing mechanics such as tense and parts of speech. The emphasis will be on encouraging kids to expand on their ideas, as well as on sentences using descriptive and action words.
Children at this age have an unlimited supply of imagination and ideas. They just may not know how to express what they’re thinking in writing. At Storymakery, we offer a creative writing program that supplements their education at school by allowing kids to create their own fantasy or adventure storybooks.
To encourage creativity and cognitive thinking, our writers will spend time with your kids to practice writing sentences and explore creative thinking via storytelling and writing prompts. The writing workshops will be complemented with time at our character and publishing studios, where kids can create characters and illustrations to help bring their story to life.
Whether they currently enjoy writing or not, they will enjoy being young authors at the end of our program.
Our classes are once a week for an hour and 15 minutes. The Fall session lasts 6 weeks.
To register, please complete the registration and complete payment. The Storymakery staff will email you a confirmation within 24 hours.
